To get to Wolverhampton by train today you need to go to Tamworth and change, and then go to Birmingham and change, and then take the Stafford train and head back towards home

I wouldn’t recommend the bus

Preston!
My train from Glasgow terminated at Preston on Sunday because the overhead lines were down at Wigan.

Got hubbys pre-assessment appt for CRT pacemaker to be fitted through for next week. Moving fast. Looks like he'll be in soon . Heart nurse showed us an actual pacemaker this morning. Didn't realise it was that big! (Looked like one of the big old silver lighters I used to use in my silly teen smoking days😂 )

I assume he'll cancel his week off so you can take it later in the year?
Yes , he's going to on Monday.

Already rebooked the hotel for 6 nights in June ( Couldn't get the 7 nights again ) when he's off. That's 4 weeks after op , just worked out right for when the 4 wks restrictions lifted ( hopefully).

Watch a follow up appt come during that week.....

Had a ' 7 years ago today' memory thing came up on my phone with photos of our hotel in Germany. Just found out it had a swimming pool & sauna which we missed at the time .

Also features the wine bar ,& restaurant that hubby's German bosses had to literally carry me out of to the carpark :embarrass:. Local Wine ( that they paid for) cost a fortune and was so smooth that I polished most of the 5 bottles myself while they sipped about an inch in their glass ( I'm used to knocking pints of cider back😂).

So smooth that I didn't even have a hangover the next morning. The Germans still joke about that now when they ring.

Decided while hubby's in hospital having heart op on Friday, to start refreshing my German ready for the go ahead for trips abroad again and a revisit .

Currently in The Eagle Vaults in Worcester, sort of caught up in a Welsh stag party , learning lots of Welsh rugby versions of songs involving 🐑 😳😳😳🤣

Bloody good night though ( they even asked if it's OK, me being a lady like 🤪)

I have spent the majority of the day with the favourite nephew up by Lake Windermere. I am totally in love with the place. We moved from there to Morcambe, wasn't too bad, seemed to be full of non English speaking Italian tourists.
Highlight of my trip was getting shat on by a seagull, it missed my face, hair and more importantly - my ice cream! The git got my sunglasses and a bit of my t-shirt. Once I'd got over the shock and cleaned myself up, I shot off like that Zola Budd and got myself a lottery ticket for tonight! I probably won't get a single number, but I can dream.

I was meant to be thereabouts this week but problems with accommodation one night and train strikes yesterday kept me at home.
