The weather isn't doing the fish in the canals much good here:|. Hundreds dead & others gasping at the surface with lack of oxygen. 😭.
Big effort to pump oxygen in to save any surviving fish. Apparently the heavy rain didn't help , washing sh1t into the canal escalating the lack of oxygen.

Had a early morning 4 mile power walk to book in for my aqua zumba later, instead of the usual mid morning Tues walking group.

Then enjoyed a morning in town with son on his day off, shopping for my congrats pressie of shirts & trousers rig-outs for his new job .
(Went in house of Fraser first...soon hopped it around the corner to M& S where we got 3 shirts & 2 trousers for the price of one pair of trousers alone in House of Fraser.:eek: No wonder it was empty!)
Then brekkie sitting on a bench in the sun with pulled pork baps oozing with stuffing & apple sauce.

So far been a different & fantastic day :)

Latest and hopefully last in the dryer saga. The old dryer is now completely and officially deceased and will be going off to the bottom of the drive ready for scrap heaven. First testing it turned off 5 mins in, throwing the error code and staying stone cold. In-Laws don't want to fix it up so off it goes.

Excited now , after failing to find anywhere suitable for a holiday in UK (at not extortionate prices) .

Found the new owners of our previous little holiday 'home from home' in Poole for years are letting it out through a holiday cottage company. (but at double the price we used to pay for it :eek:) Photos look exactly the same , so looks like they bought the house lock , stock & barrell.

BUT....only got the one week available this year , reduced to half original price as getting close . Germans have just acted quickly to hubbys holiday request for once, his german colleagues are available to cover for him.

SO all booked in :bananafunk: . must work extra hard at todays 2 zumba sessions, in an attempt to get into the new shorts I've so far failed to get down into .Got a feeling I'll be buying some more.......

ST16 Represent.
Going to see Bruce Springsteen in Birmingham tonight, I am the fan, my wife likes about 4 of his songs, and loves 2, Thunder Road and Badlands. She is well aware of him playing 3 plus hour sets, she does seem OK with this, not sure how happy she will be when she remembers we are standing.

I'm not sure if 'random words' are needed for 'Born in the USA', one of the most tedious songs I've had the misfortune to hear.
And I've just thought that that song could be about Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson !

My mate asked why the hell I was going to see Bruce Springsteen as all of his songs are just chest beating america is great type songs, now removing the fact that I like country music and a lot of that is chest beating america is great type songs, I had to educate him on the example he gave, Born in the usa. He conceded but it didnt change his opinion. His loss.

How to report an abandoned vehicle:​

Please contact us on 01785 619401 with the following details:

  • Make and model (e.g. Ford Mondeo)
  • Colour
  • Registration number
  • Location
  • General condition of vehicle
An authorised officer from the Environmental Enforcement team will then investigate the matter and determine whether the vehicle has been abandoned and deal with it accordingly.

Well, I cycled to the pub OK and delivered a stash of rhubarb there, then went nextdoor and delivered the glasses - back to the pub for the evening and a cycle home with distant lightning all around, and some rain, but not a difficult amount.

I arrived back to find 'my' cat waiting on the gatepost, clearly intending ambushing something (probably not me?). I felt this to be above and beyond the call of duty, so I got her some biscuits as I put the bike away in the Shed.

It's actually nice to have a bit of 'fresher' weather, after five weeks of blazing Sun.
