What hobbies do you have?

Cameras and photography is my big hobby, but I'm also involved with steam locomotives and I'm looking into getting my stage rally competition license at some point - when that does happen, you may want to stand well clear...!!
I like taking pictures and have had several published but i have never really understood all the technical side so just rely on the auto setting the point and shoot.

I have huge respect for professional photographers.

Nothing wrong with that - you can get great photos with a small point and shoot, you just need to know a few basic rules of composition :)

I nearly always use the manual modes, which do give you more control for more complex work - I also work on film a lot, the camera in my avatar is a 1970s medium format which doesn't even have any form of built in metering! It's completely manual, and you need a handheld exposure meter to measure the light

Which camera do you use?

I now use a tiny pocket camera (Canon IXUS 100IS) which i find is really good and slips into my pocket.

Heres a photo i took a few years ago (using a previous camera) which turned out really well and has been used by magazines

I'm another one whose hobby is photography. I got my first DSLR for Christmas (also have a compact and a bridge camera) and steadily finding my way around it.

Nice photo Helen :) Little cameras are perfect!

I love it - it gives me a chance to get out and about, although sadly things have been so busy with work and everything else recently that I'm missing so many opportunities...

I've been working with a 50D for a while now, and I have an older Canon 35mm film SLR as well as the medium format - all good fun, and that' s what it's all about really :D

My Grandad used to collect keyrings from his travels - he used to have a board in his hall with loads hanging on it, at least a couple of hundred!!

I'd like either a Ford Cortina, or a Porsche.

I'm another one who takes pictures, a bit.
Sometimes I read.
